__ ABOUT

20 years ago, I learned how to build and protect brand authority. It turned out those same skills — clear positioning, original perspective, and independent proof — are exactly what AI looks for in modern search.

About Kari

I spent the first eight years of my career with a Washington, D.C. area PR firm, securing press coverage and developing thought leadership for public figures in energy, policy, finance, and entertainment. This formative experience — with a client portfolio ranging from Forbes publisher Steve Forbes and executives at a Fortune 10 energy company to New York Times bestselling author Vince Flynn and the Oliver Stone-directed World Trade Center film — instilled a standard of excellence I’ve since applied across all brand and reputation development.

Over the next decade-plus, I took those fundamentals in-house. I led communications for two major universities, a global SaaS company, a Financial Times healthcare and biopharma media company, and a real estate brokerage that catapulted into the third fastest-growing company in Southwest Ohio. My impact in those roles was vast, from driving a 95% year-over-year increase in brokerage sales volume, leading communications for an inaugural university giving day that raised 300% of its goal in 24 hours, and building a revenue-generating content program featuring global biopharma companies.

This experience shaped a firm belief I bring to every engagement: lasting reputation is earned, not engineered. It’s built when executive leadership and communications counsel share a focus on specific business goals, and when the brand has something genuinely worth saying. My best work has focused on finding existing differentiators and positioning them so that the right audience can see, understand, and act. That alignment is what moves visibility metrics into actual business outcomes — new clients, stronger pipelines, and measurable growth.

When AI search started changing how buyers find, vet, and select expertise, I recognized the pattern. The brands showing up in AI answers weren't the ones with generic messaging, plug-and-play marketing templates, and Meta campaigns. The businesses showing up are the ones that invested in reputation work: clear positioning, an original perspective, and independent proof.

I started Salience Strategies because this is the same work I’ve been doing for two decades — and I’m deeply committed to helping reputable businesses stake their position in modern search.

From previous clients & colleagues

“When I met Kari last year, it was immediately clear that she is brilliant, engaging, and thoughtful. Kari's executive counsel and forward-thinking strategy were invaluable to the team. She challenged us all to think about reputation, brand, and long-term growth in different ways. She asked the right questions to understand how a business works, why it's different, and where it's under pressure — and used that knowledge to create impact where it mattered most.”

“Glasshouse Realty Group could not have achieved the level of growth and recognition we have without Kari’s leadership, vision, and talent. Her strategic contributions shaped nearly every aspect of our success—from three consecutive “Best of Dayton” wins and being named one of the Fastest Growing Companies by the Dayton Business Journal to the innovative, agent-focused initiatives she created as we scaled from 11 agents to over 250.”
